Dawn Marshall is running for TX-10 U.S. Congressional District. She has lived in the Bryan/College Station area for 30 years, first as a graduate student and then as a professor at a local community college. She is one of five children from a working-class family and the first in her family to earn a degree. Dawn has worked in many different jobs, from assembly lines and checkout lines to volunteering as an EMT, and finally as an archaeologist. She earned her Master’s and Ph.D. from Texas A&M University. She believes that everyone deserves a chance to become what they want to be in life. For this reason, Dawn works at a community college to help other working-class students attain their dreams. She is running for TX-10 Congressional District representative because she believes that she can help fix what is wrong with our system.

We can no longer trust that our system will run itself and assume the people in charge will do what is right. What our current situation has shown us is that our democracy is fragile and needs to be bolstered if we are to continue as a democratic republic.
